Pew Accessories & Boards

Pew accessories are the small fittings that make a nave work week to week. They include pew clips for wedding bows, hymnal racks, holders for used communion cups, and a hymn board for the day's numbers. Most are sold singly or in church-sized packs, such as 48 pew clips or a hymn board with five sets of number tiles. Materials range from clear plastic to solid hardwood.

A parish secretary ordering for a wedding season needs pew clips that fit the pew end; the Doey's clips take ends up to 2.5 in wide. Pews without wooden racks can take the Religious Supply Center clear book holder, which comes with screws and a template. Congregations that serve communion in individual cups add a pew-mounted holder. The Leinuosen hymn board at 32 by 16 in is sized to be read from the pews.

Questions before you order

How many pew clips does a wedding need?

Count the pews to be decorated on both sides of the aisle and allow one clip per pew end, plus a few spares. A 48-pack covers 24 pews on each side, which is more than most parish weddings decorate. Clips are reusable.

How is a pew book rack installed?

The clear book holder comes with screws and an installation template. Mark the template on the pew back at a consistent height along the row, pre-drill pilot holes, and fasten the rack. Measure the rack against the hymnals the parish uses before mounting.

What is included with a hymn board?

The Leinuosen board ships as a hardwood wall board with five sets of number tiles 0 to 9 and a HYMNS tile. Five sets allow most Sunday number combinations. Mount it on a wall visible from the pews, near the front of the nave.

Can pew clips be used outside?

The Doey's clips are polypropylene and the maker rates them for heat, cold and rain. They can hold decorations on fences, railings and outdoor chairs. Measure the surface first; the clip opens to fit edges up to 2.5 in wide.
